The standard way proposed by Oracle to upgrade HFM from 11.1.2.4 to the last release 11.2.1 is to restoring the schema or database exported from release 11.1.2.4.xxx to the schema or database created for use with release 11.2.1 before configuring the newly installed environment. However, sometimes, it could be interesting to proceed in two times (first configuring the environment, and then upgrading):
- You did forgot to restore the source HFM schema or database before configuring.
- You want first test a fresh installation with a template HFM application before upgrading.
- You want to consolidate several HFM applications from different 11.1.2.4 instances in one 11.2.1 instance.
Copy App
Use your old friend “Copy App” tool to copy the HFM application(s) from source 11.1.2.4 environment to 11.2.1:
HFM Application Upgrade
Locate the “HFM Application Upgrade” tool on your 11.2.1 environment and run it:
… that’s it!

Hello,
Our source environment is at HFM 11.1.2.4.205 version. HFM application was of type EPMA. I ran HFMCopyUtility choosing convert to classic option to copy schema.
Then when I launch HFM Application Upgrade tool and enter DB connection parameters I get “No HFM application found”message.

Any suggestions?
Hi,
Have a look to HSX_DATASOURCES table. Can you see your application name? If not, just add a record with your app name.
Also have a look to _PARAMETERS and check APPMODE is HFM and not EPMA.
Kind regards,
Cédric
It depends on the version that you are using of the copyapp. the old version had a Bug. It could not write into the HSX_DATASOURCES.
if this is the case, just add them. then you will see it.
